West Indies captain Jason Holder has received a one-match suspension for his team’s slow over-rate during the first ODI against Sri Lanka which the West Indies lost by one wicket last Sunday a R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Holder therefore was omitted from the second ODI which was played yesterday (Nov. 4) at R. Premadasa Stadium and the team was led by Marlon Samuels.

Holder was also fined 40% of his match fees, while his teammates were fined 20% of theirs. The fine suspension was handed down by former Australian Test player David Boom who was the match referee.

This is Holder’s second such offence within the last year, having previously been found guilty of the same offence against South Africa in January this year.
