KINGSTON, Jamaica -A St Andrew woman was arrested on Monday at the Supreme Court building in downtown Kingston where she allegedly tried to pass about half a pound of ganja to her son who is in custody, accused of murder.
According to police sources, the woman was able to get the contraband past the security checkpoint at the main entrance by claiming she was a juror.
Jurors entering the building are not usually searched.
A check of the log book at the court entrance has revealed that the woman has attended court every day her son’s case was mentioned, a police source revealed.
She is expected to be questioned in the presence of her attorney before being charged with possession of ganja and attempting to introduce contraband.
According to a police source, the 46-year-old woman from the community of Tarrant, was held with ganja, ‘grabber’ and other paraphernalia.
