Xodus Wet Music Festival to ignite Jamaica’s carnival season

The shores of Kingston Harbour will erupt in colour, rhythm, and revelry on Saturday, October 4, as Xodus Carnival debuts a high-octane addition to Jamaica’s Carnival calendar. The new Xodus Wet Music Festival, a jouvert-style sunrise party, promises a morning of lively celebration designed to awaken both body and spirit.

Running from 4:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., the event will transform the Kingston waterfront into a sensory playground, where revelers can expect to be doused in paint, powder, water, and foam, all while dancing to the pulsating sounds of soca, dancehall, and Caribbean fusion. Organizers say the festival is designed to immerse attendees in the heart of regional culture and deliver a uniquely unfiltered Carnival experience.
Leading the entertainment are soca icons Bunji Garlin and GBM Nutron, whose live performances are expected to energize the crowd from darkness into daylight. They will be joined by a dynamic roster of international and local DJs, including Jus Jay from Barbados, Trinidad’s Major Penny, and American selectors Nocturnal Sound and Tony X. Jamaica’s own DJ talents such as Zess, Rico the DJ, Franco, and Brush 1 will also hit the stage.
Carlos Phillpotts, Festival Director for Xodus, described the event as more than just a concert. He called it “a full-blown sensory escape” and said the festival will blend electrifying performances with immersive cultural experiences to set the tone for the Carnival in Jamaica season.

Xodus Wet is open to both longtime Carnival fans and newcomers looking for a fresh, high-energy experience. With the festival’s dawn start and chaotic beauty, organizers believe it will become a staple in the national Carnival calendar.
